Success Criteria:  I can use evidence and reasoning to construct an explanation for the Econauts about why there was a decrease in the energy storage molecules in the Biodome.

2. Write the heading Key Concepts on the next blank page of your notebook, update TOC. Record the following key concepts on the page:


  • When there is more carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide) in abiotic matter, more carbon is available to producers for making ESM's (energy storage molecules).
  • When there is less carbon (CO2) in abiotic matter, less carbon is available to producers for making ESM's.
  • When there is more sunlight, producers can make more ESM's.
  • When there is less sunlight producers cannot make as many ESM's.
